CBI Arrests Kendriya Vidyalaya Principal and Middleman for Allegedly Accepting Rs 3 Lakh Bribe

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested the principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Itarsi, and a middleman in a bribery case on October 7, 2026.

According to the CBI, a case was registered on the same day after allegations that the school principal demanded a bribe of Rs 3 lakh from firms based in Bhopal. These firms had been awarded renovation work at the school, and the alleged bribe was demanded in exchange for clearing their pending bills for work orders issued through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM).

The CBI laid a trap and caught the principal and the middleman while they were allegedly accepting the Rs 3 lakh bribe.

Following the arrests, the CBI conducted searches at the accused persons’ residential and office premises in Itarsi and Agra. Property-related documents were also seized during the searches. The investigation into the case is currently underway.
